Short Bio
Maria A. Byrd is a Best-Selling Co-Author of the “Dear Fear” book Volume 1, Co-Author in Black Woman by Birth Champion by Choice and a Transition Strategist with an emphasis in self-care whose work is uniquely designed to support women transitioning out of military service and into a healthy, well-adjusted life as a civilian. A 27-year veteran of the United States Army, Maria is dedicated to showing military women how to discover and return to their own identities once they hang up their uniforms and re-enter life after service.
Discouraged by the lack of resources available to help her process the emotional adjustment of retiring from military service, Maria became determined to create her own. S.H.E Transitions University, LLC is a virtual support hub for women who are preparing to transition out of the military, and features digital courses, one on one coaching, and group coaching.
Maria is passionate about her work as a Transition Strategist for military women and her hope is to inspire them to discover their purpose and become who they’re destined to be.
Long Bio
Maria A. Byrd is a wife, mother of 3, grand mother, sister and most importantly your friend. She is the former Warrant Officer Candidate School Course Director, as well as a highly decorated combat veteran who retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 after serving 20 plus years in the United States Army.
Maria holds a Masters of Arts Degree in Human Service with a concentration in Executive Leadership from Liberty University, also a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Resource Administration from Saint Leo University. She is an author in two books, Amazon #1 Best Seller Dear Fear Volume I, and Black Woman by Birth Champion by Choice. She is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, INC and loves working with youth and helping woman excel in their transition.
Maria specializes in and is committed to helping women shift burnout and stress (of challenging transitions) in life, relationships and careers to regain their confidence and self-worth. She believes women should have the mindset of I am…I can…I will as they embrace any transition. She is committed to empowering women to use their life’s transitions and feelings of doubt, fear, depletion and lack of clarity to embrace a future with peace of mind, better self-care, clarity and purpose in their next chapter in life
As the CEO and Founder of S.H.E. (Self, Health & Elevation) Transitions University, Maria provides impactful results through speaking events, consulting, workshops, conferences, retreats and training through her S.H.E. Transitions University systems. Her motto is “I am…I can...I will…. because my legacy is watching”. Maria emulates how a S.H.E Transitions University woman can bridge the gap from feeling frustrated, sad, depleted, and misunderstood to having a peace of mind, more confidence, as well as a plan, strategy and purpose in their life.
As a Transition Strategist, she provides digital courses, coaching, tips, tools and techniques so others don’t have to feel stuck, afraid or unsure like she did. Her coaching style helps provide you a smoother transition through the journeys of life. When she retired from the military after 20 plus years of service “she was lost, afraid, misunderstood, unsure of her abilities and searching for a life line to get her through the emotional roller coaster ride of transitioning.
